The ZWO ASI 678MM is a compact monochrome camera designed for astrophotography. This model improves upon the ASI 178MC by reducing noise levels and completely eliminating the amp-glow effect, making it an excellent choice for capturing high-quality images of celestial objects.
At the heart of this camera is the Sony IMX678 monochrome sensor, which utilizes back-illuminated (BI) technology and Sony Starvis 2™ technology. This advanced sensor offers exceptional sensitivity in both visible and near-infrared ranges. With a read noise as low as 1 e at 8 dB amplification and a 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC), the camera delivers outstanding performance in almost any condition.
The camera is housed in a lightweight, durable aluminum body with ZWO’s signature red finish, ensuring portability and reliability.
