Vixen Apochromatic refractor AP 81/625 SD81S II OTA (4460)

The Vixen AP 81/625, originally known as the ED81S, set a new standard for apochromatic refractors. It features advanced ED glass for improved color correction and a fast f/7.7 focal ratio, providing bright, sharp images that will satisfy even demanding visual astronomers and astrophotographers. The new ED glass delivers high-contrast, clear views with virtually no false color. Vixen’s design uses environmentally friendly glass technology, and the optical tube is both stable and lightweight. The top carry handle is fitted with a 1/4-20 stud, making it easy to mount a camera for piggyback astrophotography. The Dual Speed Focus system, now standard on the ED81, allows for precise, fine focusing at 1/7th speed.
