Expanding upon its predecessor, the Sony PXW-FS7M2 XDCAM Super 35 Camera System offers versatile 4K capabilities suitable for various production scenarios, from documentaries to commercials. With a Super 35mm sensor, it delivers cinematic depth of field, supported by a robust locking E-mount compatible with a wide range of lenses, including PL, EF, Leica, and Nikon via adapters. This enhanced mount minimizes lens play and supports heavy cine-zooms without extra support.

Featuring an electronic variable ND system with clear filter and three user presets, the camera provides 2 to 7 stops of ND adjustment, facilitating precise exposure control. Footage can be captured in DCI 4K or UHD 4K at up to 59.94 fps or HD at up to 180 fps onto optional XQD media cards.

The 4K Super 35 EXMOR sensor offers 14 stops of latitude and supports XAVC or MPEG-2 codecs, with XAVC offering high-quality intra-frame or long GOP compression options. Signal processing modes include Cine-EI for electronic cinematography and Custom for Rec-709 and Rec BT-2020, compatible with BT 2020 monitors via HDMI or SDI.

Equipped with a locking E-mount for stability and safety, the camera accepts various E-mount lenses and offers compatibility with 35mm lens types via simple mechanical adapters. Its magnesium construction ensures a lightweight yet durable build, complemented by the ergonomic SmartGrip for intuitive camera operation.

The redesigned viewfinder and mic holder mount, attached to a replaceable 15mm rod, offer enhanced flexibility in positioning, catering to left-eye shooters and ensuring level operation. Internally, the camera records DCI 4K and UHD 4K without external recorders, utilizing two XQD media slots for simultaneous or relay recording.

Optional accessories like the XDCA-FS7 provide genlock and timecode breakout, enabling raw and ProRes recording. With its array of features and enhancements, the PXW-FS7M2 stands as a versatile tool for professional filmmakers and content creators.
