An advanced successor to the XC10, the Canon XC15 4K Professional Camcorder is tailored for professional usage, delivering a comprehensive audio/video capture workflow in a compact, ergonomic design.

Equipped with a 1" 12MP CMOS sensor, the XC15 can record up to Ultra HD 4K resolutions at 29.97 fps and 1080p at 59.94p. Its integrated f/2.8 - 5.6, 8.9 to 89mm zoom lens offers a 35mm equivalent focal length of 27.3 to 273mm in video mode, featuring separate focus and zoom rings with auto and manual control options. Supporting both CFast and SD cards, 4K video is recorded to CFast cards in an MXF wrapper, while 1080p video is written to SD cards. This segregation ensures efficient data management and prevents mix-ups.

The XC15 includes the MA-400 microphone adapter, featuring an XLR audio input, originally designed for the C300 Mk II, ideal for single-user applications like run-and-gun news gathering. New menu options such as internal mic trimming and mic sensitivity, along with updated looks for movies and still photos, enhance its professional capabilities. Incorporating movie looks from the C300 Mk II ensures consistency, facilitating grading and B-camera usage.

New features like a 24p mode for both 4K and 1080p video, waveform monitor display, and three additional shutter speeds for flicker reduction further elevate its functionality. The addition of Highlight Priority gamma mode simulates HDR effects, providing realistic tonality in mid- to high-brightness areas. Rules can be assigned to file names and metadata post-filming for streamlined data management, and an operation lock ensures precision during operation.

Compact yet ergonomic, the XC15 features intuitive controls, a centered and tiltable LCD, and a detachable viewfinder for versatile shooting options. With its broad ISO range, Canon Log Gamma, and Wide DR Gamma, the XC15 combines professional-grade performance with portability and convenience.
