The GSO 6" f/12 Classic Cassegrain OTA is a remarkable reintroduction of the traditional Cassegrain telescope, crafted with precision by the renowned Taiwanese GSO factory. This telescope combines innovative features and advanced technology, making it a compelling choice for astronomy enthusiasts.

  • Chromatic Aberration-Free: This telescope exclusively utilizes reflection, eliminating chromatic aberration, unlike RC and Newtonian telescopes that rely on light deflection.
  • Compact Design with Extended Focal Length: Enjoy a longer focal length while maintaining a compact form factor, comparable to RC and Mak telescopes.

Optical System and Benefits

The Cassegrain system features a primary mirror shaped as a rotational paraboloid and a secondary mirror forming a slice of a rotational hyperboloid. Although traditionally challenging to produce, GSO has perfected the manufacturing process. The extended focal length not only limits the field of view but also enhances image quality by avoiding edge distortion, allowing for high-quality reproduction in both photography and observations.
