Description

The Maksutov-Newton telescope is a variant of the Newtonian telescope that incorporates a parabolic mirror and an additional meniscus lens at the front of the tube. This innovative design effectively minimizes the spherical aberration typically associated with the main mirror. Astronomers highly value the modified Newtonian configuration due to its notable reduction in coma, astigmatism, and image curvature compared to traditional mirror systems.

The Maksutov-Newton telescope serves as an excellent and more affordable alternative to apochromatic systems. It is particularly advantageous for capturing photographs characterized by exceptional contrast, edge sharpness, and a flat field. With a light factor of 5, this telescope enables the capture of high-quality images even with short exposure times.

A low-profile 2" diameter Crayford focuser eliminates image vignetting, while the dual focusing system with a 1:10 ratio allows for precise image sharpening.

The construction of the telescope tube utilizes resilient and lightweight carbon fiber, which possesses excellent thermal properties. As a result, the tube's dimensions remain unaffected by changes in ambient conditions.
