The Meade DSI-IV Deep Sky Imager 16 MP Color camera is an incredibly versatile device suitable for both experienced users and beginners delving into the captivating hobby of astrophotography. This camera utilizes the color variant of the Panasonic MN34230 image sensor, earning it the title of a one-shot color instrument. This means that it can generate a color image directly on the sensor during a single exposure, eliminating the need for dedicated filters. This feature offers several advantages, including a significant reduction in the time required to capture the raw signal, as well as simplifying the post-production and final processing of photos.
The camera is built around the Panasonic MN34230PLJ sensor, which is based on CMOS technology. Together with its efficient cooling system, this camera achieves an impressively low noise level of 1.2 e at 30 dB gain. The 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) works in conjunction with the light-sensitive element, resulting in clear and highly dynamic images.
