EdgeHD telescopes, short for "Edge High Definition," are true astrographs. This optical marvel ensures distortion-free, razor-sharp images across the entire visual field. Unlike conventional "coma-free" designs that only correct coma aberrations outside the optical axis, EdgeHD corrects for both coma and field curvature.

Many optical systems claim to be "astrographs," offering superb star clarity but often suffer from curved image planes. This curvature leads to increased aberrations and star size toward the image edge, resulting in distorted images. Celestron's EdgeHD telescopes not only correct for coma but also field curvature, significantly enhancing resolution and minimizing aberrations compared to other systems.

The XLT multi-coating further elevates EdgeHD's performance, delivering unparalleled image quality.

Celestron has meticulously redesigned the mechanisms and tube of the EdgeHD series:

• Mirror clamps securely hold the primary mirror without applying pressure on optical elements, ensuring image stability during extended exposures.
• Air vents behind the primary mirror facilitate rapid cooling, while an air filter system prevents dust ingress into the tube.

The Celestron CPC Mount: The Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes in the CPC series are securely mounted on a robust, cast-aluminum fork mount. Though the telescope tube is fixed, this design offers compactness, eliminating the need for heavy counterweights and ensuring easy portability. Setting up the CPC mount is remarkably swift, allowing you to begin observing within minutes while others are still aligning their equipment.

SkyAlign simplifies initial alignment, leveraging a 16-channel GPS receiver to pinpoint three bright celestial objects in the sky without prior knowledge. Following alignment, the telescope instantly locates over 40,000 celestial objects, with the option to save up to 100 objects for future reference.

Additionally, when paired with the optional equatorial wedge, Celestron's All-Star Polar Alignment provides precise alignment without requiring a polar scope or view of the Pole Star.
