Celestron's EdgeHD telescope introduces a new era in optical excellence with its aplanatic Schmidt Cassegrain design. After over 50 years of refining the Schmidt Cassegrain telescope, Celestron has redefined the boundaries of astronomical imaging.

EdgeHD telescopes, aptly named "Edge High Definition," represent true astrographs. This optical system delivers distortion-free, razor-sharp images right to the edge of the visual field. Unlike other optical designs that only correct coma aberrations outside the optical axis, EdgeHD also addresses field curvature.

While many optical systems promise sharp star clarity, they often suffer from curved image planes, resulting in star distortion towards the edges. Celestron's Edge HD telescopes not only correct coma but also field curvature, ensuring pristine image quality across the entire field of view. This advanced correction significantly enhances resolution and minimizes aberrations, setting EdgeHD apart from other optical systems.

The XLT multi-coating further enhances EdgeHD's performance, ensuring exceptional contrast and clarity in every observation.

The Edge HD telescopes’ mechanisms and lens tube have been fully overhauled:

• Mirror clamps securely hold the primary mirror without compromising optical elements, ensuring stability during extended exposures.
• Air vents behind the primary mirror facilitate rapid cooling, while an integrated air filter system prevents dust from entering the lens tube.

CGX Equatorial Mount and Tripod:

Celestron’s CGX EQ mount represents a culmination of advancements in German Equatorial mounts, catering to a wide range of telescope setups. Designed for both visual observation and astro-imaging, the CGX EQ boasts sturdier construction, improved motors for enhanced slewing and tracking, and a heavy-duty belt-drive system that minimizes backlash.
