Description
The LX600 offers a seamless and portable solution for capturing stunning astrophotos with ease, streamlining the process as effortlessly as focusing a camera and opening the shutter. This comprehensive package integrates a host of features and technologies that set it apart from competitors, surpassing the capabilities achievable by mere add-ons to standard scopes.
StarLock Integration:
The LX600 incorporates an innovative star tracking and object locating system directly into its mount, ensuring precise centering of your target within the field of view. Once aligned, the star tracking system communicates seamlessly with the motor drives, maintaining lock onto your subject with arcsecond precision. This automated optical tracking system facilitates long-exposure guiding, delivering pinpoint stars on astroimages despite various environmental factors and mechanical errors.
New f/8 Advanced Coma-Free™ Optical System:
Meade introduces a redesigned optical system featuring faster f/8 ACF™ optics, providing pinpoint star images across the entire field of view. With enhanced mirror mounting and focusing mechanisms, zero image-shift is achieved, eliminating the need for a mirror lock. The inclusion of a two-speed microfocuser enables quick and effortless adjustments for optimal image clarity.
Solid Fork Mount with Heavy-Duty Gears:
Equipped with large, high-quality worm-gear drives, the LX600 ensures smooth movements with minimal periodic error, crucial for long exposure astrophotography. The solid fork mount enables uninterrupted tracking from horizon to horizon, eliminating the need for meridian flips commonly associated with German Equatorial Mounts.
Alt/Az Mode:
In alt/az mode, the LX600 offers an unparalleled visual and short exposure experience. The LightSwitch® fully-automated self-alignment coupled with StarLock precision tracking places every target dead center in the eyepiece, allowing you to immerse yourself in the stunning vistas of pinpoint stars created by the superb f/8 ACF optical system.
Autostar II Controller:
With access to over 145,000 celestial objects, the Autostar II controller provides the fastest GoTo performance available. Alternatively, users can opt to control the system from an external computer, offering flexibility and convenience.
Giant Field Tripod:
The LX600 comes with a robust tripod featuring 3" diameter chromed steel legs and a cast aluminum tripod head. Adjustable from 34" to 54", this research-grade foundation ensures stability and reliability for optimal observation and imaging sessions.
All New X-Wedge™:
Precision-engineered from ultra-ridged, aircraft-grade aluminum, the X-Wedge offers smooth and accurate altitude and azimuth adjustments. With 30% more stability than competing equatorial wedges, it becomes an essential accessory for long exposure astroimaging.
Portability:
While delivering remarkable results from suburban backyards, the LX600's portability allows users to explore the wonders of truly dark sky conditions in remote locations.
