Description
The CEM40 is remarkably versatile, with a mount head weighing only 8.2 kg yet capable of supporting up to 18 kg of payload. This impressive payload-to-weight ratio of 2.5 makes it an ideal choice whether you're setting up under a clear, dark sky or in your backyard observatory with a modest pier.
Here are some key advantages:
- An integrated electronic polar finder scope (iPolar) ensures precise alignment, even when the pole star is obscured.
- Large levers on its quick-lock drive engagement system make gear adjustments easy, even while wearing gloves.
- With its internal cable management system, there's minimal risk of cables getting snagged during operation.
- The mount comes equipped with the new Universal Self-Centering Saddle, compatible with both Losmandy and Vixen style dovetails.
- Featuring a CNC body, the mount combines sleek aesthetics with robust durability.
The GoTo technology is powered by a Go2Nova 8407+ controller, featuring an integrated heater for its large display, a library of 212,000 objects, integrated 32-channel GPS, and an ST-4 auto-guiding port.
Another standout feature is the ultra-quiet, low-power consumption stepper motor drive systems. Both versions of the CEM40 offer precise tracking, with the CEM40-EC version achieving <0.25 arcsecond accuracy thanks to its high-resolution encoder and real-time periodic error correction (RPEC).
The mount is available in two versions: with or without encoders. Both versions deliver precise tracking in the night sky, with the EC variant achieving exceptional accuracy and eliminating the need for guiding in astrophotography.
The mount includes iOptron's newly developed LiteRoc tripod, designed to be lightweight yet sturdy. Featuring a sturdier socket for its extending tripod legs and larger locking lever compared to its predecessor, the LiteRoc tripod is well-suited for mobile observers and astrophotographers. With upper tripod legs measuring 45mm in diameter and lower sections at 38mm, the LiteRoc tripod strikes a balance between strength and weight, making it highly portable.
