Achieving precise polar alignment is often a time-consuming challenge. It can take considerable effort and patience, with the risk of setbacks like accidental bumps to the mount. iOptron’s Center-balanced Equatorial Mounts (CEM), such as the CEM25 and CEM60, feature an accessible polar scope, enabling quick and accurate alignment in just minutes. However, conventional methods still require uncomfortable positioning, such as bending or kneeling.

The PoleMasterTM electronic polar scope streamlines this process. Mounted at the front of the R.A. axis, it utilizes a highly sensitive camera to capture images of the northern sky, revealing not just Polaris but also faint nearby stars. Using this data, it calculates the precise position of the North Pole, aligning it with the rotation center of your R.A. axis. With sophisticated algorithms, the PoleMaster detects both points, displayed on-screen for easy adjustment until alignment is achieved.
