It allows the mounting of Meade LX90 models to Meade Equatorial Wedges, facilitating polar alignment for astrophotography. The adapter transforms the standard three-hole mounting pattern of Meade wedges into the single central mounting bolt required by all LX90 models. This setup provides secure and stable mounting for all sizes of LX90 onto any Meade Equatorial Wedge.
