Astronomik CLS-CCD Filter

The Astronomik CLS CCD filter is well-suited for DSLR cameras modified for astronomical purposes, particularly in light-polluted environments. It significantly boosts the contrast between all deep-sky objects and the background.

Since the conclusion of 2008, we've overhauled our entire line of photographic filters, now introducing our latest "Halo-Free" filters.

The CLS-CCD Filter enhances the contrast between astronomical objects and the background by featuring a wider transmission curve compared to UHC filters, allowing more light to pass through. Consequently, stars are less dimmed. This filter is meticulously engineered to block as much stray light as possible while delivering optimal performance for 'useful' light. It's highly versatile, suitable for DSLR, CCD, and black-and-white film photography, as well as for observing deep-sky objects with telescopes or photo lenses of all apertures f/3 and above.

Main Use:

This filter effectively blocks emission lines from artificial light sources such as streetlights (e.g., sodium and mercury vapor) and airglow. It permits all crucial emission lines and the spectral range visible to a night-adapted eye. Additionally, the supplementary IR-blocking layer enables its use with DSLRs and webcams lacking integrated IR-block filters.
