Baader Filters OIII CMOS f/2 Highspeed 65x65mm

OIII filters selectively transmit light with a wavelength of 501 nanometers, corresponding to the spectrum lines of doubly ionized oxygen. These emission lines are characteristic of planetary nebulae and some emission nebulae, allowing these celestial objects to remain visible while other wavelengths are effectively blocked by the filter.

Description

OIII filters selectively transmit light with a wavelength of 501 nanometers, corresponding to the spectrum lines of doubly ionized oxygen. These emission lines are characteristic of planetary nebulae and some emission nebulae, allowing these celestial objects to remain visible while other wavelengths are effectively blocked by the filter. This enhances the contrast and brings out faint nebulae details that may not be otherwise discernible.

Astrophotography: These filters are most effectively utilized with monochrome cameras. For optimal results, images captured using OIII filters should be combined with those obtained using H-alpha and SII filters. This combined approach results in images that vividly depict faint nebulae with enhanced contrast and clarity.
