Notably, it offers superior color balance compared to similar filters when paired with DSLR cameras and one-shot color cameras featuring CMOS sensors, such as those by ZWO. It also provides substantial enhancements for monochrome cameras, especially in luminance exposures.

This filter excels at improving the contrast of deep-sky objects while suppressing sky background interference. Its sophisticated transmission characteristics allow deep-sky object lines to pass through while blocking various sources of light pollution, including atmospheric oxygen emissions ("skyglow"). Particularly effective in light-polluted areas, it serves both visual and photographic purposes.
