Tailored specifically for astrophotography in starry skies, the L-Pro filter stands out as a low color cast solution, a feat unmatched by other light pollution filters. Its primary function is to enhance the visibility of various deep-sky objects by selectively reducing the transmission of specific wavelengths associated with light pollutants. These pollutants include those emitted by artificial lighting sources like mercury vapor lamps, high and low-pressure sodium vapor lights, as well as unwanted natural light produced by neutral oxygen emission in the atmosphere (known as skyglow).

The L-Pro filter boasts high transparency in critical nebula emission lines, such as OIII (496nm and 500nm), H-beta (486nm), NII (654nm and 658nm), H-alpha (656nm), and SII (672nm). This transparency enhances contrast and details, making it suitable for both visual observation and photography in sub-rural areas afflicted by heavy light pollution.
