There's a common misconception regarding cylindrical slip-fit systems used for eyepieces and optical accessories, often focusing on centering. While some adapters and holders are marketed as "centering" or "self-centering", even if an accessory is slightly pushed off-center by clamping, it's not a significant issue as long as the accessory and holder axis remain parallel. However, angular misalignment between the accessory and the drawtube axis, even by a few arc minutes, can be problematic, particularly for collimation tools and camera adapters. Thus, while centering is beneficial, maintaining parallelism is paramount.

The Parallizer™ 2-inch-to-1.25-inch adapter features a patented design ensuring parallel alignment with the drawtube axis for optical accessories like eyepieces, camera adapters, and collimation tools.
