Description
The flattener serves as a corrective lens, evening out the field which may be slightly curved by the primary optics. This curvature often results in stars appearing less sharp at the edge of the field of view. Known as a field flattener, this lens corrects this effect, allowing astrophotographers to capture images where stars maintain sharpness across the exposure's edge. Positioned between the telescope and the camera, it effectively rectifies this distortion.
