Introducing the 2" Herschel Safety Wedge featuring a ceramic solar finder and a 2" ClickLock eyepiece clamp—a top-tier solution for uncompromisingly sharp solar observing and photography in white light. The 'V' version is tailored for visual applications, while the 'P' version is optimized for photographic use.

As widely understood, the functionality of a Herschel wedge hinges on utilizing only a small fraction (4.6%) of the incoming light for actual observation. The majority of the light passes through the housing, forming a focal point in mid-air. Even well beyond this focus point, the concentration of light remains exceptionally bright, necessitating caution to prevent any inadvertent exposure to the outgoing beam.

Space Technology:

Utilizes a heat-absorbing special ceramic material at the end of the light trap, akin to the heat tiles on the space shuttle, effectively dissipating radiant heat without significantly increasing the surrounding temperature. The sealed housing eliminates any risk of glare.

Solar Finder:

The ceramic plate doubles as a solar light beam screen, simplifying the process of positioning the Sun's image at the center of the telescope's field of view.

ClickLock Eyepiece Clamp:

Featuring a 15° rotation, securely accommodates each eyepiece, even when wearing thick gloves during winter observations.

Built-in Filter Holder:

A 2" threaded ring connects to the eyepiece clamp of the prism housing, serving as a detachable holder for two 2" filters.

Includes four 2" neutral density filters (ND 0.6/0.9/1.8/3.0) and a 2" solar continuum filter.
