Description

Introducing the Daystar Quark Gemini, a revolutionary tool that combines both Prominence and Chromosphere bandpass filters, allowing instant switching between the two views. With this innovative device, observers can seamlessly transition between broad-stroked prominences and high-contrast narrow bandpass views without the need for equipment swapping or refocusing.

The Quark Gemini is hailed as the first Hydrogen Alpha "Eyepiece", merging high-quality components like a telecentric barlow, adapters, snouts, and hydrogen alpha filter into a single assembly. Engineered for efficiency and optimization, users can now experience DayStar's renowned optics at an affordable price point.

Available in "prominence" or "chromosphere" configurations, the Quark Gemini delivers optimal performance on refractors ranging from F/4 to F/9. No need for complex configurations - simply insert it into your diagonal, add an eyepiece, and start observing. It's that easy! With full disk viewing possible on refractors up to 450mm focal length, you can enjoy a hassle-free observing experience.

For added protection, especially on telescopes with 80mm aperture or more or during prolonged Sun tracking, it's recommended to use an Energy Rejection Filter (ERF). This can be a UV/IR cut filter mounted before the diagonal or a full aperture red or yellow glass ERF placed in front of the telescope.

The Quark Gemini features a custom Daystar Instruments 4.2X telecentric barlow lens, meticulously optimized in coatings and optical design for the Hydrogen Alpha wavelength. This specialized telecentric lens ensures superior field flatness and performance.

With its fully optimized design, the Quark Gemini eliminates the need for additional adapters, offering a streamlined, lightweight eyepiece-sized device. Enhanced with baffles for increased contrast and AR coatings optimized for the 656nm wavelength, this innovative tool sets a new standard in solar observing.
