Description

Professional astronomers regularly employ spectroscopy to unveil the mysteries of the cosmos. Now, the Star Analyser makes this capability accessible to amateur astronomers at an affordable price through a simple telescope attachment. Functioning like a conventional 1.25-inch filter, it serves as the perfect complement to today's economical astronomical imaging equipment, such as cameras and webcams.

For instance, even with a modest 80mm aperture telescope and a basic, unmodified webcam, you can uncover the hidden traits of numerous stars down to magnitude +4. With a more robust 200mm aperture telescope paired with a sensitive, long-exposure CCD imager, you could potentially identify bright novae and supernovae, or even measure the expansion of the universe by studying the redshift of a quasar.

Features:

  • Incorporates a high-quality transmission diffraction grating housed in a standard 1.25-inch filter cell.
  • Anti-reflection coated glass protects the grating surface.
  • Boasts a high-efficiency design with 100 lines/mm blaze.
  • Simple to use – screws into a camera eyepiece adapter like a regular filter.
  • Spectrum direction indicated on the filter cell, with a locking ring ensuring orientation.
  • Optimized for the compact CCD sensors commonly found in popular webcams, video cameras, and astronomical cameras.
  • Allows simultaneous recording of stars and spectra in the same image, facilitating identification and calibration.
  • Grating distance adjustable with optional spacer rings (sold separately).
  • Can be mounted to an eyepiece for visual observations as well.
