Canon Camera EOS 2000Da Full Range (74999)
The small "a" in the name signifies "astromodified," meaning the camera has been specially adapted for astrophotography. Standard DSLR cameras are equipped with a filter that reduces the red spectral range to match human daytime color perception. However, this filter blocks the critical H-alpha line, which is essential for capturing the glow of astronomical gas nebulae.

Description
The small "a" in the name signifies "astromodified," meaning the camera has been specially adapted for astrophotography. Standard DSLR cameras are equipped with a filter that reduces the red spectral range to match human daytime color perception. However, this filter blocks the critical H-alpha line, which is essential for capturing the glow of astronomical gas nebulae. During astromodification, this filter is removed, enhancing the camera's sensitivity to red light and making it ideal for astrophotography.
The astromodified DSLR offers significantly higher red sensitivity in the H-alpha and SII ranges compared to the original version. This allows photographers to capture stunning images of gas nebulae, which are often extensive in size. The large sensor of the DSLR is fully utilized to deliver exceptional wide-field astrophotography results.
Advantages of Astromodified DSLRs for Astrophotography:
-
Ideal for extended nebulae: The large sensor and high sensitivity in the H-alpha range make it perfect for capturing wide-field images.
-
Built-in computer: Eliminates the need for an external laptop or power supply, reducing cable clutter.
-
Versatile applications: Compatible with a wide range of accessories and suitable for multiple uses.
-
Monitor with LiveView: Simplifies focusing and framing during astrophotography sessions.
The astromodification process is carried out by AstroHobby in Italy by replacing the original Canon filter. Three types of astromodifications are available:
-
Baader Astromodification: Uses the Baader Planetarium BCF filter, allowing light with wavelengths from 420-680 nm to reach the sensor. This results in four times higher sensitivity for H-alpha compared to an unmodified camera.
-
Super UV/IR-Cut Astromodification: Similar to the Baader filter but with an extended spectral range (400-700 nm), allowing your camera to capture all visible light.
-
Full Range Astromodification: Makes the camera sensitive to ultraviolet, visible, and infrared light (starting at 300 nm). This option is ideal for flexibility, as additional filters can be used for daylight photography, infrared imaging, or advanced astrophotography.
The astromodified camera includes all items typically provided by the manufacturer: camera body, battery, charger, USB cable, and manual.
Important Note: During the modification process, the original packaging is opened, and test photos are taken to ensure quality control. As a result, the photo counter will no longer be at zero; however, these cameras are not used products unless explicitly marked as such in our shop.
