This Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope is a versatile instrument designed for both visual observation and astrophotography. The advanced ACF (Advanced Coma-Free) optics eliminate common mirror aberrations, providing crisp, point-like stars across the entire field of view and a flatter image plane—especially beneficial for astrophotography. Ultra-High Transmission Coatings (UHTC) on the corrector plate increase light transmission by up to 15%, delivering brighter and more detailed views of celestial objects. The LX85 equatorial mount is optimized for astrophotography, featuring powerful servomotors, Meade’s Smart Drive technology for precise tracking, and AudioStar GoTo control with a 30,000-object database and built-in audio commentary.
