Description

The BA310MET series from Motic is an affordable and robust line of metallurgical microscopes designed for industrial quality control and educational applications in engineering and materials science. These incident light microscopes are ideal for examining opaque materials such as metals and minerals, offering both ease of use and high efficiency. The BA310MET is engineered for reliability in daily industrial environments, with features that prioritize user comfort and work productivity. Its Epi-Illuminator, equipped with a 12V/50W halogen light source, delivers powerful, adjustable illumination for reflective samples, and can be easily upgraded to an LED module for different color temperatures. The microscope includes a built-in field diaphragm and aperture diaphragm to reduce stray light and improve image contrast.

 

The BA310MET uses Motic’s CCIS® Optical System and new Long-Working Distance LM Plan objectives with multi-layer coatings for optimal contrast and image quality. The fully corrected tube lens ensures images are free from color fringes, whether viewed through the eyepieces or captured digitally via the trinocular port. The design also features a standardized ISO photo exit for documentation. Depending on the model, you can choose from stages with various sizes and travel ranges, including options for transmitted light and handling larger samples.

 

Objectives
The BA310MET series features a new generation of Metallurgical LM Plan objectives, made from high-quality glass and designed for optimal image quality. These plan achromatic objectives are multi-layer coated for improved contrast and are fully corrected for color accuracy. The reversed, ball-bearing 5-fold nosepiece ensures precise alignment and repeatability with every magnification change. For advanced applications, optional EC-M Plan objectives are available.

 

Illumination
The Epi-Illuminator uses a 12V/50W halogen lamp with an external power supply to minimize heat near the microscope. The halogen bulb can be replaced with a 3W LED module (4500K or 6000K) for longer life and different illumination options. The BA310MET-T model also includes built-in 6V/30W halogen Koehler illumination for transmitted light, which is also upgradeable to LED.
