The MAGUS CLM50 camera is designed for mounting on a microscope and is optimized for fluorescence and darkfield imaging. It is well-suited for use with 60x and 100x objectives. The camera’s 1.7MP sensor produces images with a resolution of 1600x1100 pixels, and records video at a frame rate of 33 frames per second. A special cooling element prevents the sensor from overheating, ensuring consistently high image quality. The global shutter instantly captures images without distortion or trailing, even when samples are in motion. Data transfer is handled by a USB3.0 interface, enabling high-speed transfers to a computer while maintaining image quality for live viewing on an external screen. This camera is intended for professional use and university-level education.

The MAGUS CLM50 is built around a SONY Exmor color CMOS sensor that uses back-illumination technology for improved light sensitivity. With its large 1.1-inch sensor and 9 x 9 μm pixels, the camera achieves a light sensitivity of 4910mV at a shutter speed of 1/30 second. It produces color images, which is especially valuable when studying samples where color information is important.

The integrated cooling module uses a Peltier element, which cools the sensor to 42°C below room temperature. This cooling prevents the buildup of thermal noise during extended operation and long exposures, resulting in clear and interference-free images.

A key feature of the camera is its global shutter. This technology allows the camera to read all pixels at once, capturing realistic, distortion-free images even if the sample is moving.

The included software supports photo and video capture, image editing, and measurement of linear and angular dimensions of objects and their features. The camera is installed into the microscope’s trinocular tube using a C-mount adapter.
