This set includes the EQ6-R PRO equatorial mount, the Sky-Watcher BKP 250/1200 OTAW Dual Speed optical tube, and a 5.2 kg Sky-Watcher counterweight for EQ6, creating a complete and stable system for advanced astronomical observation.

The Sky-Watcher EQ6-R is an upgraded version of the popular NEQ-6 Pro mount, featuring technical improvements and based on technology used in AZ-EQ5/6 hybrid mounts. The head of the mount weighs 17.3 kg, the tripod 7.5 kg, and the total load capacity is 20 kg for visual observations and 15 kg for astrophotography (excluding counterweights). The system is controlled by the GoTo SynScan system, which includes a database of 42,900 objects.

The mount is equipped with saddles that allow for the attachment of both Vixen and Losmandy style dovetail rails.

For any mount with the SynScan GoTo system, it is recommended to use an additional GPS module for automatic and accurate setting of geographic coordinates and time for each observation.

Due to its portable nature, the set does not include a standard AC power supply. Only a car power adapter is included. The compatible AC adapter is ESPE 12V/3A with a TIG mini 2-pin connector.

Optical System

This is a Newtonian reflector telescope with a large 250 mm (10-inch) parabolic mirror and a focal length of 1200 mm. The new version features a 2-inch Crayford focuser with a 1.25-inch adapter, allowing the use of virtually any eyepiece available. The focuser is equipped with a microfocuser for precise focusing. It also features a T-2 thread for attaching DSLR cameras with the appropriate adapters.

Observational Capabilities

The large aperture makes this telescope especially suitable for observing nebulae, but it also performs well for planetary and lunar observations. The 250 mm mirror collects about 935 times more light than the human eye at night, enabling the observation of objects down to 13.7 magnitude (compared to naked eye visibility of up to 6 magnitude). The optical resolution allows separation of stars with an angular distance greater than 0.6 arcseconds.

Focuser

The telescope features a precise 2-inch Crayford focuser with micro-adjustment, allowing the use of both 2-inch and 1.25-inch eyepieces. A 2-inch eyepiece is included in the set.
