Description
Assembled with filmmakers and advanced content creators in mind, the Panasonic Lumix GH7 Mirrorless Camera with 12-60mm f/2.8-4 Lens kit combines the video-focused Lumix GH7 Micro Four Thirds camera body with the versatile Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 12-60mm f/2.8-4 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. zoom lens.
Panasonic Lumix GH7 Mirrorless Camera
The Lumix GH7 is designed to significantly improve both the speed and quality of video production. It features a 25.2MP BSI CMOS sensor and an upgraded autofocus system that uses Phase Detection AF with Real-time Recognition AF for humans, animals, cars, motorcycles, trains, and airplanes. The camera supports internal Apple ProRes RAW recording and offers 32-bit float audio recording, removing the need for constant manual adjustment of recording levels. It is compatible with Adobe’s cloud workflows, supports Real-time LUT, and offers Open Gate recording for maximum flexibility in framing.
Key highlights include:
-
25.2MP sensor with more than 13 stops of dynamic range boost for rich, detailed photo and video capture
-
Internal Apple ProRes RAW recording and the world’s first 32-bit float recording in an interchangeable lens camera (when paired with the DMW-XLR2, sold separately)
-
Native integration with Adobe Frame.io Camera to Cloud
-
Open Gate recording for versatile reframing and multi-format delivery
-
Real-time LUT support for applying custom color looks directly in-camera to both photos and videos
Professional Features for Demanding Content
The GH7 offers several high-end features aimed at professionals. Phase Hybrid AF continuously tracks subjects accurately and quickly, while Dynamic Range Boost maintains a wide dynamic range at all ISO settings, providing smoother highlights and shadows in both video and stills.
Efficient Workflow
The camera is built to support fast, streamlined workflows. ProRes RAW HQ recording and 32-bit float audio can be handled internally, allowing you to create high-quality content with minimal external gear. This makes the GH7 ideal for smaller crews and mobile setups.
World’s First 32-bit Float Recording
When used with the optional DMW-XLR2 XLR adapter, the Lumix GH7 offers 32-bit float audio recording. This format captures a very wide dynamic range of audio, from extremely quiet to very loud sounds, helping avoid clipping and significantly reducing the need to adjust levels during recording. This improves audio quality and speeds up post-production.
ProRes RAW HQ Internal Recording
The GH7 can record 5.7K 30p ProRes RAW HQ internally, directly to compatible media, without requiring an external recorder. This allows you to capture high-quality RAW footage with a simple, compact setup. Improved gimbal compatibility further expands your creative options.
Note: ProRes RAW recording is not supported on SD cards and requires compatible media such as CFexpress.
ARRI LogC3 Recording
With the optional DMW-SFU3A software upgrade key, the GH7 supports ARRI LogC3, enabling color matching with ARRI digital cinema cameras. ARRI has certified the implementation of the LogC3 curve in the GH7. This adds to the existing V-Log option, providing more flexibility for Log-based recording and making the camera even more compatible with professional workflows that include ARRI cameras.
High Reliability for Long Shoots
Thanks to its efficient heat dissipation design and compact body, the GH7 can maintain extended recording times even under heavy loads, such as 4:2:2 10-bit C4K/4K 60p/50p and ProRes RAW HQ, without the need to stop due to overheating.
Phase Hybrid AF
The GH7 combines contrast AF with Phase Detection AF to create a Phase Hybrid system that dramatically improves subject-tracking reliability. It can maintain focus even in complex scenes with multiple subjects, strong backlighting, or low light, making it dependable for demanding shoots.
Real-time Recognition AF
Advanced subject detection enables the camera to identify a wide variety of targets and specific body parts. It can recognize human and animal eyes, faces, heads, bodies, vehicle fronts, motorcycle helmets, the front car of a train, and the nose of an airplane. This makes it particularly effective for sports, wildlife, and action shooting.
Richer Tonal Expression with Dynamic Range Boost
Dynamic Range Boost captures two images with different exposure characteristics and combines them in real time into a single frame with a richer tonal range, especially in high-contrast scenes. For still images, it helps produce RAW files with better shadow detail. For video, it provides V-Log/V-Gamut recording with more than 13 stops of dynamic range.
Real-time LUT
You can load LUT files directly into the camera and apply them in real time to both photos and videos. The GH7 supports “.VLT” and “.CUBE” formats, allowing you to apply custom looks straight out of the camera and reduce the need for heavy color grading later. Using the Lumix Lab app, you can create your own LUTs and transfer them easily to the camera.
Lumix Lab App
The camera’s fast Wi-Fi connection allows you to pair the GH7 with a smartphone in just a few steps. Once connected, you can transfer media, crop, adjust brightness, apply LUTs, and prepare content quickly for social media platforms or client previews.
Camera-to-Cloud with Adobe Frame.io
With built-in support for Frame.io Camera to Cloud, stills and video clips can be automatically uploaded, backed up, shared, and collaboratively reviewed in the cloud as you shoot, helping teams work faster and more efficiently.
Live Streaming
The GH7 supports flexible live streaming options. For outdoor or mobile use, wireless RTMP/RTMPS live streaming can be set up easily using the Lumix Sync app. For indoor or studio environments, you can use wired RTP/RTSP streaming for a more stable connection.
Unlimited Video Recording Time
The camera supports 4:2:2 10-bit C4K/4K 60p/50p internal recording without a set time limit when used within its recommended operating temperature range of -10°F to 104°F. It also allows simultaneous internal recording and external output via HDMI, making it a strong choice for small crews, live workflows, and demanding productions where mobility and quality are essential.
Note: A CFexpress card or SD memory card with Video Speed Class 90 is required for some recording modes.
Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 12-60mm f/2.8-4 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens
The included Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 12-60mm f/2.8-4 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. lens provides a 24–120mm equivalent focal length range on Micro Four Thirds cameras, covering wide-angle to short telephoto. Designed in cooperation with Leica, it features four aspherical elements and two extra-low dispersion elements to reduce chromatic aberration, spherical aberration, and distortion, resulting in sharp, high-contrast images with accurate color.
A linear autofocus motor ensures fast, smooth, and nearly silent focusing, which is ideal for both photo and video use. The integrated POWER Optical Image Stabilizer reduces the impact of camera shake for sharper handheld shots and works with compatible bodies to support Dual I.S. for even more effective stabilization. Its robust metal construction is splashproof, dustproof, and freezeproof, making it suitable for challenging shooting conditions. A rounded nine-blade diaphragm helps produce smooth, pleasing bokeh.
Key lens characteristics:
-
Standard zoom for Micro Four Thirds with a 24–120mm equivalent range
-
Optical design with aspherical and extra-low dispersion elements for clean, sharp, low-distortion images
-
Linear AF motor for fast and quiet focusing in both stills and video
