25.2MP Digital Live MOS Sensor and Updated Processor

Designed for high-speed, high-resolution work, the G9 II is equipped with a 25.2MP Live MOS Micro Four Thirds sensor and an updated processing engine. Together they produce sharp, detailed still images and cinematic DCI 4K and UHD 4K video while keeping noise levels low. Colors appear natural and three-dimensional rendering of subjects is enhanced. The camera also includes a handheld high-resolution mode that merges multiple frames into a single 100MP RAW or JPEG file, all without requiring a tripod.

4K Video Recording and Assist Functions

• The G9 II is a powerful video tool as well as a stills camera. It supports DCI 4K and UHD 4K 60p recording with 4:2:2 10-bit color and no fixed time limit. For high-resolution slow motion, it can also record C4K/4K 120p in 4:2:0 10-bit.

• A Frame Indicator can highlight the frame with a red border while recording, helping you avoid errors such as forgetting to start the recording.

• The Frame Marker function makes it easier to convert anamorphic footage into vertical video for social media by letting you visualize how the image will be cropped in post.

• AWB Lock fixes the auto white balance when shooting in mixed or changing lighting, improving consistency and avoiding the need for manual color temperature adjustments.

• Vertical Position Information detects when a video is captured vertically and lets you choose whether to embed that orientation in the video file.

• An advanced Focus Transition feature automatically shifts focus between set points at a constant speed, enabling smooth, professional rack-focus effects.

• V-Log comes pre-installed and records a flat, neutral gamma profile with the equivalent of more than 13 stops of dynamic range. This gives you precise control over color in post-production and allows smooth integration with footage from VariCam cameras.

• Support for Apple ProRes 422 and ProRes 422 HQ provides high image quality with relatively low compression, reducing strain on your computer and enabling non-linear editing without the need for transcoding.

• Real Time LUT recording lets you apply LUTs directly in-camera, speeding up your workflow and reducing the amount of color grading needed later.

• V-Log View Assist supports LUT formats such as .CUBE, .VLT, and .TXT, allowing you to preview an approximation of your final graded look while recording.

Phase Hybrid AF System

The G9 II is the first Lumix G-series mirrorless camera to feature a Phase Hybrid AF system. It uses 779 phase-detection points for fast, accurate autofocus and reliable tracking performance. The AF is designed to remain dependable in challenging situations that previously posed problems for traditional systems, including scenes with multiple people, strong backlighting, or low light. 5-Axis Sensor-Shift Stabilization and Dual I.S. 2

• To maximize sharpness when shooting handheld, Dual I.S. 2 combines the camera’s 5-axis sensor-shift stabilization (rated for up to 8 stops of compensation) with the 2-axis optical stabilization in compatible Lumix lenses featuring O.I.S.
