Sigma FP L digital camera (SKU SIOB-C44900)

The Sigma fp L is built around a 61MP full-frame backside-illuminated CMOS sensor (effective 61MP, 9520 x 6328), delivering extremely detailed still images and high-quality video. The BSI design improves light gathering, reduces noise, and maintains accurate color and smooth tones, even in low-light conditions. Native ISO sensitivity runs from 100 to 25,600, with an extended range of ISO 6 to 102,400 to suit a wide variety of shooting environments.

Compact, Modular Mirrorless Design
Continuing the fp series’ modular philosophy, the fp L keeps the same compact, rectangular body that is easy to adapt into rigs for cinema use or keep stripped-down for travel and everyday photography. It is intentionally designed without a built-in viewfinder, grip, or hot shoe, so you can build it up or pare it down depending on your needs. The body is constructed from aluminum for a strong but light and thermally efficient chassis.

Advanced 61MP Imaging Performance
The ultra-high resolution sensor benefits both stills and video:

• High detail capture for large prints, commercial work, or heavy cropping.

• Crop Zoom functionality (in stills and video), allowing you to crop in-camera by up to 5x to simulate using longer focal lengths while still retaining strong image quality.

• Electronic shutter–only design keeps the body small and eliminates shutter shock and noise, enabling silent and vibration-free shooting. The top shutter speed is 1/8000 s, with a maximum flash sync of 1/15 s.

• Lossless compressed 14-bit RAW stills are recorded as DNG files for maximum editing flexibility.

• Continuous shooting at full resolution is available at up to 10 fps.

• Multiple in-camera aspect ratios, such as 3:2, 16:9, 21:9, 7:6, and 2:1, help you previsualize various output formats.

Sigma has applied its experience with Foveon sensors to this Bayer sensor design and intentionally included a low-pass filter to help suppress moiré and ensure accurate color rendering.

Hybrid Autofocus System
The fp L uses a hybrid AF system that combines phase-detection and contrast-detection methods:

• On-sensor phase detection provides faster and more confident focusing, particularly when tracking moving subjects.

• Contrast detection adds precision in fine focusing, especially in lower contrast scenes.

• The AF system remains usable down to –5 EV, making it effective in very low light.

• Forty-two selectable focus points can be chosen quickly via the touchscreen interface.

Cine-Ready Video Capabilities
The fp L maintains and expands on the strong cinema feature set of the original fp:

• Internal CinemaDNG recording in 8-, 10-, or 12-bit at up to:

  • 3840 x 2160 (UHD 4K) at 23.98 / 24.00 / 25 fps

  • 1920 x 1080 (FHD) at frame rates from 23.98 up to 120 fps

Electronic image stabilization is available for video to help smooth out camera movements. The camera can also interface with select gimbal systems for more advanced movement control. You can use the fp L as a plug-and-play webcam by connecting it to a computer via USB-C to send both video and audio.

Additional creative and production features include:

• Color Modes, adjustable in-camera, for directly shaping color and contrast.

• Two new Color Modes on the fp L: Powder Blue and Duotone.

• Cinemagraph support for producing animated stills with partial motion.

• Ability to capture stills during live view and recording in Cine mode.

• Extracting still frames from CinemaDNG or MOV files directly in-camera.

Director’s Viewfinder and Cinema Tools
The fp L’s Director’s Viewfinder mode simulates the field of view, framing, and aspect ratios of various cinema cameras and formats. This has been expanded on the fp L and now supports:

The fp L uses the L-Mount, which offers:
