The Sky-Watcher Emerald eyepiece with a 16 mm focal length offers a very wide apparent field of view of 82 degrees. It is an excellent choice for observing deep-sky objects such as nebulae, star clusters, and especially planetary nebulae when used with telescopes of longer focal length. The images produced are free from noticeable aberrations, well corrected, and provide very high contrast.

This eyepiece features a 14 mm eye relief, ensuring comfortable viewing, along with a foldable rubber eyecup for added convenience during observation.

Optical and Build Quality

The Sky-Watcher Emerald eyepiece is carefully manufactured with attention to detail. The optical design consists of 7 elements arranged in 4 groups, with each lens properly blackened to reduce internal reflections. The mechanical construction is both solid and visually refined.

When used with a popular 8-inch Dobsonian telescope, this eyepiece provides approximately 75x magnification, offering a well-balanced combination of image brightness and magnification, especially for more compact deep-sky objects.
