Description

Astronomik has developed this filter set specifically for astrophotography with CCD cameras, offering natural color reproduction for planets, stars, emission nebulae, and reflection nebulae. The L-RGB Typ 2c filters are optimized for CCD imaging, ensuring accurate color representation across all types of celestial objects. Unlike other brands that may compromise on color accuracy, Astronomik prioritizes true-to-life color reproduction. Both stars and spectral line-emitting objects are captured in their authentic colors, producing images that appear as if the objects were bright enough to be seen with photopic vision. This commitment to color fidelity sets Astronomik apart from other manufacturers.

The design of the filter set emphasizes several key aspects: simple image processing for users, nearly 100% transmission for shorter exposure times, balanced transmissions across individual filters for precise color reproduction, and adherence to industry standards.

Astronomik also ensures that the post-processing experience is straightforward. The filters are calculated for the sRGB color space, a widely used standard for monitors, printers, and imaging software. This eliminates the need for users to have advanced knowledge of colorimetry or color spaces, as Astronomik has already addressed these challenges.

The filters are crafted with high precision, making them parfocal with minimal wedge errors and diffraction-limited to avoid degrading the performance of high-quality optical systems. Issues such as focal distance mismatches or misaligned colors are effectively eliminated.

Main Use

The L-RGB filter set separates the spectrum into red, green, blue, and luminance components, enabling full-color imaging with monochrome CCD sensors. This separation aligns with the human eye's sensitivity as defined by DIN 5032 standards. By maintaining consistency within the sRGB color space throughout image capture and processing, users can achieve vibrant and accurate final images. With this filter set and a compatible camera, astrophotographers can produce excellent raw data for further image processing.
