Description
The Astronomik SII 12nm Filter is a narrowband filter designed for CCD astrophotography, specifically for capturing emission nebulae. It isolates the ionized sulfur (SII) spectral line at 672 nm while blocking nearly the entire visible spectrum and infrared light, ensuring high contrast and minimal interference from skyglow or artificial light pollution. With a full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 12nm, this filter is optimized for fast optics ranging from f/2.8 to f/15 and ensures up to 99% transmission. Its "Halo-Free" design, introduced in 2008, eliminates unwanted reflections and halos, making it ideal for producing sharp, high-quality images of deep-sky objects.
