Description
The Astronomik UHC filter is an excellent choice for visual observing. It enhances your stargazing experience by revealing more stars and finer details in deep-sky objects compared to filters from other manufacturers.
 
The Astronomik UHC (Ultra High Contrast) filter ensures nearly 100% transmission of light from the O-III and H-beta lines. While the second window for the H-alpha line is not designed for visual observing, it becomes crucial when the filter is used with electronic devices. The filter effectively blocks scattered light from unwanted wavelengths, including artificial light pollution, making gas and planetary nebulae stand out with extraordinary detail against a dark sky.
 
Main Use:
 The Astronomik UHC filter’s exceptional light transmission delivers superior views of deep-sky objects, even with smaller telescopes. Its high-quality optical glass allows enough light to pass through for successful visual observations with telescopes starting at 2" (50mm) aperture. These filters are optimized for telescope focal ratios between f/4 and f/15. Transmission losses and chromatic distortions, common in other filters, are only noticeable with extremely bright aperture ratios of 1:2 or greater.
 
A key advantage of the Astronomik UHC filter is its outstanding optical quality. You’ll enjoy the same needle-sharp stars you’re accustomed to seeing through your telescope, but with enhanced contrast and clarity.
