Optolong Filters Venus UV-Filter, 1.25'' (59434)

The Optolong Venus-U Filter is designed for capturing photographs, CCD, or video images in the UV-A range (320-400 nm), making it possible to observe cloud structures on Venus. This filter is intended for use with monochrome CCD cameras, provided the sensor’s cover glass and internal UV-IR blocker are removed to allow UV light to pass through. The same applies to mono DSLRs, which require removal of the built-in low pass filter. A specialized UV lens is also necessary for proper imaging. All-reflecting telescopes, such as Newtonians and RCs without correctors, are suitable if their reflective layers are made of aluminum. CCD and CMOS sensors can detect light in the 350-1100 nm range.

Important safety note:
Optolong filters are not designed for solar observation. Never look at the sun with an Optolong filter, as this can cause permanent blindness.
