The FUJIFILM X-T5 is a portable yet highly capable mirrorless camera built around a newly developed 40MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS 5 HR back-illuminated sensor. Similar in size to the original X-T1 and lighter than the X-T4, it combines a classic dial-based control layout with the latest imaging technology. Key features include in-body image stabilization with up to seven stops of compensation, a Pixel Shift Multi-Shot mode that produces 160MP files, and ultra-fast electronic shutter speeds up to 1/180,000 second.

Beyond its impressive stills performance, the X-T5 is also a powerful video camera, capable of recording up to 6.2K in 4:2:2 10-bit color internally, or outputting 12-bit ProRes RAW and Blackmagic RAW via HDMI for advanced external workflows.

40MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS 5 HR BSI Sensor

The X-T5’s 40MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor delivers exceptional image quality in a compact, lightweight body. The improved image-processing algorithm produces highly detailed, clean images across the native ISO range, ensuring excellent performance in both bright and low-light environments. Image quality remains uncompromised despite the camera’s small form factor.

Video Performance and External RAW

The camera records internally at up to 6.2K/30p in 4:2:2 10-bit color, offering rich detail and flexibility for grading. A dedicated 4K HQ mode oversamples 6.2K footage to create extremely sharp 4K video. This higher resolution also enables a 2x digital zoom function in-camera with minimal visible loss in quality, adding flexibility to framing.

For more advanced workflows, the X-T5 supports both F-Log and F-Log2. F-Log2 extends dynamic range to more than 13 stops, giving extra latitude when color grading. Using the micro-HDMI output, you can send 12-bit ProRes RAW or Blackmagic RAW to compatible Atomos and Blackmagic recorders.

425-Point Intelligent Hybrid Autofocus

The X-T5 features a high-performance autofocus system with 425 phase-detection points. AF sensitivity down to -7 EV allows focusing in very low light. A deep-learning, AI-driven algorithm improves subject recognition and tracking, helping the camera lock onto and follow animals, birds, athletes, cars, motorcycles, and other moving subjects with better accuracy and consistency.

In-Body Image Stabilization and Pixel Shift Multi-Shot

The built-in 5-axis in-body image stabilization (IBIS) system reduces camera shake by up to seven stops, helping you achieve sharper images at slower shutter speeds or in dim lighting. IBIS works with most X-mount lenses, including those without optical stabilization. Digital stabilization can also be enabled for video to further smooth handheld footage.

Pixel Shift Multi-Shot uses the IBIS system to shift the sensor in small, precise increments while capturing 20 separate images with a single press of the shutter. These frames are combined in FUJIFILM’s Pixel Shift Combiner software to produce an ultra-high-resolution 160MP file. This is ideal for commercial work, fine art, product photography, or any static subject where maximum detail is critical.

Speed and Responsiveness

The X-T5 is built for fast action. Its electronic shutter reaches up to 1/180,000 second, and the mechanical shutter tops out at 1/8000 second. Shutter lag is around 35 ms, giving a very responsive feel when you press the release.

Continuous shooting options include:

It features approximately 0.8x magnification and improved control of parallax and distortion compared with previous models. • The 3.0" tilting touchscreen LCD has a 1.62m-dot resolution and supports intuitive touch controls. The tilting design is especially useful for high, low, or awkward shooting angles.

• The camera runs on the NP-W235 battery, allowing up to approximately 680 frames on a single charge (usage dependent). The mechanical shutter is rated for about 500,000 actuations, supporting long-term reliability.
