Harnessing RED’s latest 8K VV sensor, the V-RAPTOR [X] exploits the advantages of large format, global shutter technology, high frame rates, and 8K acquisition, all housed within a compact, feature-rich body weighing just over 4lbs.

SETTING A NEW STANDARD

Marking a significant milestone, the V-RAPTOR [X] stands as the inaugural large format global shutter camera. It inherits key features from its predecessor, the original V-RAPTOR, including dual 12G SDI ports for distinctive monitoring perspectives, a secure Canon RF-style lens mount for versatile lens choices, and CFexpress Type B media support, capable of handling formats up to 800MB/s, including 8K 120P. Furthermore, enhancements such as improved in-camera audio preamps and a revamped sensor cavity engineered to mitigate stray light and enhance contrast performance, further solidify the V-RAPTOR's legacy.

EMBRACING GLOBAL VISION

The V-RAPTOR [X] 8K VV ventures beyond boundaries with the introduction of RED Global Vision, a cutting-edge suite of tools utilizing the global shutter sensor to offer heightened flexibility and user-friendliness across the production spectrum. Global Vision’s Extended Highlights empowers the camera to delve deeper into highlight detail, facilitating richer HDR finishes or smoother highlight roll-off for SDR. Additionally, RED Global Vision introduces Phantom Track to streamline Virtual Production environments utilizing GhostFrame™ or Frame Remapping, enabling the capture of individual R3D clips per sub-frame slice, alongside live monitoring over each SDI.
