RED KOMODO-X Starter Pack

RED continues to innovate its KOMODO series with the introduction of the black KOMODO-X 6K, a digital cinema camera boasting improved frame rates, a redesigned S35 sensor, and upgraded video and audio interfaces. Equipped with built-in Wi-Fi and a USB-C connector, the KOMODO-X offers a robust platform for seamless professional capture, multicamera setups, and IP-based workflows, including live streaming. Complementing the KOMODO-X are bundled packs and additional accessories such as the RED Pro I/O V-Mount and Gold Mount Modules.

Next-Gen KOMODO Sensor

While maintaining the compact form of the original 6K S35 global-shutter KOMODO sensor, the KOMODO-X sensor undergoes a ground-up redesign, incorporating crucial architectural enhancements while delivering outstanding image quality and color science. Notable features include improved shadow detail and color rendition, along with frame rates reaching up to 80 fps in 6K and up to 120p in 4K.

Compact KOMODO Form

The KOMODO-X 6K camera integrates select DSMC3 features with the highly compact KOMODO form factor. It is compatible with the forthcoming PRO I/O Module for auxiliary power and full-size Gold and V-mount battery utilization. Additionally, it features a built-in micro plate, facilitating direct mounting of Micro V-mount batteries without the need for an adapter. Furthermore, it incorporates a full-size, 6-pin 11-17VDC power input.

Canon RF Mount

Featuring a reinforced, locking Canon RF lens mount, the KOMODO-X provides RED's toolless lens-mount functionality, ensuring compatibility with a wide array of lenses. For ARRI PL-mount lenses, users can employ the KOMODO-X with the RED RF to PL adapter, featuring an electronic ND filter.

Integrated LCD

In confined spaces or compact setups, users can preview images and apply simplified controls via the integrated 2.9" LCD. Pairing the KOMODO-X with the daylight-viewable, high-resolution DSMC3 7" Touch LCD offers more precise monitoring and complete control in a cable-free, clutter-free form.

Live Streaming and Expanded In/Out

The KOMODO-X's expanded interface includes:

• 12G-SDI video output up to 4K60p
• A USB-C port with Ethernet offload capabilities
• Built-in Wi-Fi for 1080p IP live streaming and in-app monitoring for web applications

CFexpress Type B

With a single media slot for high-capacity, fast CFexpress Type B cards, the KOMODO-X can record up to 17 hours using a 4TB CFexpress Type B card and offload data up to 3x faster than CFast media.

Advanced Connectivity

The KOMODO-X excels at streamlined IP workflows like Virtual Production and live broadcasting, thanks to its USB-C interface and integrated Wi-Fi function. Utilize it with RED Control or Control Pro apps for remote camera control, FTP media offloading, and in-camera Cloud uploading. With a RED Connect license, broadcast up to 6K live images over IP directly from the camera.

Audio Interface

Enhanced audio options include a locking, phantom-powered 5-pin connector compatible with a 3.5mm adapter and KOMODO microphones, or with a dual XLR adapter and a wide range of microphones.
