Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro

Blackmagic Design introduces the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro, expanding on the success of its predecessor, the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K. This compact Super35 camera retains the essential features of its predecessor while incorporating significant upgrades. The 6K Pro boasts a 5" tilting HDR capacitive touchscreen LCD with 1500 cd/m² brightness, a Pro EVF option, built-in clear/2/4/6-stop ND filters, dual mini-XLR inputs, an accurate timecode clock, an NP-F570 L-series battery slot, and updated Gen 5 color science.

Despite only a slightly larger form factor than the 6K model, the 6K Pro maintains the ability to record resolutions up to 50 fps 6144 x 3456 video. It continues to support the active Canon EF mount, allowing users to leverage a wide range of EF/EF-S mount lenses.

The 6K Pro introduces innovative features such as the ability to crop a second shot from one frame, upscale to 8K, or capture detailed footage with EF/EF-S-mount lenses. The updated Gen 5 internal color processing facilitates seamless integration with 6K, BMPCC 4K footage. Recording options include internal CFast 2.0 and SD/UHS-II card slots, HDMI output for live streaming, and USB Type-C output for extended recording to an external drive. Moreover, the 6K Pro includes a DaVinci Resolve Studio license and supports Blackmagic Raw capture, streamlining editing workflows.

Retaining the user-friendly controls of its predecessor, the 6K Pro supports ISO up to 25,600, offers 13 stops of dynamic range, and provides 1920 x 1080 HDR monitor output. It enhances audio capabilities with dual mini XLR inputs, phantom +48V power, a 3.5mm stereo input, a mono speaker, a headphone output, and a built-in stereo mic system.

Additional professional features include lens metadata support, 3D LUT application for monitoring and recording, up to 21.2MP still image capture, and a multifunction grip for single-handed operation. The camera supports multicamera synchronization via external timecode generator linking and simplifies post-production syncing using Resolve.

The package includes a 30W power supply for simultaneous battery charging, an MP-F570 battery, a lens port cap, and a camera strap. Optional accessories like the BMPCC Pro EVF and BMPCC Pro Battery Grip are also available.
