Enhancing the electronic capabilities and recording prowess of its predecessor, the Blackmagic Design URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 Digital Cinema Camera offers an expanded control set and heightened functionality. Featuring an updated Super 35 4.6K sensor with 15 stops of dynamic range at 3200 ISO, the G2 introduces high frame rate recording up to 300 fps and additional recording capabilities.

External camera controls provide quick access to menus for adjusting exposure settings, activating slow/fast motion, or engaging focus assist among other functions. Additionally, a monochrome LCD panel on the camera's exterior displays essential shooting data for easy monitoring. A notable professional feature is the built-in ND (neutral density) filter wheel, offering four positions for two, four, and six stops of neutral density, along with a clear filter for no exposure reduction.

Two SD card slots beside the CFast 2.0 slots allow for more affordable media usage for less intensive recording formats. The G2 also introduces a USB-C expansion port for direct recording to external drives. The default electronic EF lens mount is user-interchangeable and adjustable to ensure proper flange focal distance.

At its core, the URSA Mini Pro G2 boasts Blackmagic Design's acclaimed Super 35mm 4.6K sensor block, renowned for capturing cinematic images with subtle gradients and a large dynamic range. The G2 can capture Blackmagic RAW footage in film and extended modes, enhancing versatility to meet diverse production needs. Notably, it can capture 4.6K footage at 120 fps, 4K DCI at 150 fps, or even 1080p footage at 300 fps, ideal for fast-action shooting.

Like its predecessor, the URSA Mini Pro G2 can record high-resolution raw sensor data in CinemaDNG format onto CFast 2.0 or SD memory cards at up to 60 fps. Raw files preserve the full dynamic range and color tonality for greater control in post-production. Additionally, compressed raw recording at 3:1 and 4:1 compression ratios saves space while retaining flexibility.

For productions not requiring raw capture, the URSA Mini Pro G2 offers industry-standard Apple ProRes files in various flavors within the 444 and 422 chroma subsampling variations. ProRes files can be recorded onto CFast 2.0 or UHS-II SD cards, with options for both "Film" and "Video" dynamic ranges.

Maintaining the original URSA Mini's form factor, the URSA Mini Pro G2 retains ergonomic benefits. Compatible accessories such as the VCT shoulder pad, side-handle extension, broadcast battery plate, and EVF ensure comfortable shooting over extended periods. The shoulder pad also supports 15mm LWS rods for mounting additional equipment, catering to various shooting styles and needs.
