Canon's expertise in image processing is encapsulated in the EOS C700 PL Cinema Camera, delivering cinema-grade quality in a production-ready form factor. Equipped with an ARRI PL lens mount, this camera offers compatibility with a wide range of vintage and modern cinema lenses. The PL mount's 12-o'clock position houses the Cooke /i lens interface, transmitting real-time lens data like aperture, focal length, and focus distance for electronic display and VFX metadata.

At the heart of the C700 lies a 4.5K CMOS image sensor, surpassing DCI 4K resolution and boasting a dynamic range of approximately 15 stops, ideal for today's 4K and HDR productions. Recording capabilities include 4K at 60p to CFast 2.0 cards using XF-AVC format, as well as internal ProRes recording for quick turnarounds without transcoding. Additionally, raw recording is facilitated by Canon's Codex Digital Recorder add-on.

Despite its advanced features, the C700 maintains a user-friendly interface, with basic functions accessible via six buttons around the screen and more advanced settings navigable through a selection dial and set buttons. Its side panel offers a plethora of I/O options for various applications, from ENG-style run-and-gun to high-budget cinema productions.

The modular design of the C700 allows users to customize the form factor to suit their needs, whether shoulder-mounted for handheld shooting or secured to professional grip equipment. Notably, native V-mount battery support is available for the first time on a Cinema EOS camera.
