The Sony PXW-FS7 XDCAM Super 35 Camera System is a versatile 4K camera designed for various production environments, including documentaries, reality TV, commercials, and corporate projects. With its Super 35mm sensor, this camera delivers cinematic depth of field, ensuring stunning image quality.

Featuring an E-mount crafted from stainless steel, the FS7 allows compatibility with E-mount lenses or, with optional adapters, most 35mm lenses including PL, EF, Leica, and Nikon. It records footage onto optional on-board XQD media cards in DCI (4096 x 2160), UHD (3840 x 2160) at up to 60 FPS, or HD at up to 180 FPS.

You have the flexibility to record in XAVC-I, XAVC-L, or MPEG-2 formats. However, note that MPEG-2 recording is limited to HD video due to lower data rate support compared to UHD. The camera features dual XQD media card slots for simultaneous or relay recording, and an ergonomically designed handgrip for convenient control.

To utilize faster XQD-G-E cards, firmware update 4.00 is required, available on the Sony website. Firmware 2.0, already installed on the camera, can be downloaded for free and user-installed, adding various enhancements such as expanded audio recording, support for DCI compliant 4K recording, and additional Apple ProRes codecs.

Equipped with a 4K Super35 EXMOR sensor offering 14 stops of latitude and a wide color gamut, the FS7 provides a choice of XAVC or MPEG-2 codecs. The magnesium body makes it lightweight yet robust, with features like the SmartGrip for intuitive camera operation and flexibility in shooting angles.

The FS7 records internally in 4K up to 60fps in UHD and in HD up to 180fps with XAVC-I or up to 120fps with XAVC-L. It supports simultaneous or relay recording with two XQD media slots, while an SD card slot is reserved for configuration data.
