Freefly RTK GPS Ground Station Module for Enhanced Accuracy

Enhance your ground station setup with the Freefly RTK GPS Ground Station Module, designed to provide Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) technology for precise centimeter-level location accuracy, both horizontally and vertically.

Compatibility

This module is designed for the Alta X with F9P GPS installed and is not compatible with Here2 GPS systems.

RTK Technology Overview

RTK technology leverages a dual-module system to significantly boost positional accuracy:

  • Rover Module: Installed on the aircraft, enabling precise navigation.
  • Ground Station Module: Mounted on a tripod, connected to your ground station computer, sending GPS corrections to the Rover module to enhance accuracy from meters to centimeters in real time.

Applications & Requirements

Based on your setup, here’s what you need:

1. Alta X with F9P GPS for Full RTK Capability:

  • One RTK GPS Ground Station for your ground station computer.
  • A communication radio (e.g., FRX Pro) between the ground station and Alta X.
  • A tripod or stable mount with the included magnetic adapter.

2. Alta X with Here2 GPS for Full RTK Capability:

  • Two RTK GPS Ground Stations (one for the Rover, one for the ground station computer).
  • A communication radio (e.g., FRX Pro).
  • A tripod or stable mount with the included magnetic adapter.

3. Alta X with Here2 GPS for Enhanced GPS Performance:

  • One RTK GPS Ground Station for enhanced Alta X performance.

4. Astro Base Kit for Full RTK Capability:

  • One RTK GPS Ground Station for your ground station computer.
  • A tripod or stable mount with the included magnetic adapter.
