The Duo Azzurro globe impresses with its lustrous blue continent vignetting and deep blue oceans. When unlit, it displays a political map of the world. When illuminated, it transforms into a physical map, revealing additional surface structures on land and beneath the oceans. This series of globes was awarded the Berlin ITB Book Award in 2016 for its outstanding design and craftsmanship.

When the Duo Azzurro globe is turned off, the oceans appear in a rich, deep blue. Once illuminated, the structure of the ocean floor becomes visible, showcasing features such as volcanoes, sea basins, and trenches.

The continents are framed by a striking blue vignetting that enhances the globe’s visual appeal. This effect is also applied to land areas. When illuminated, the surface structure of mountains and valleys emerges, adding depth and detail to its design.

Compatibility with Columbus Audio/Video-Pen OID

This globe is compatible with the Columbus Audio/Video-Pen OID, which uses advanced optical image decoding technology to enhance exploration and learning experiences.

The optional Columbus Audio/Video-Pen OID features a sensor that reads embedded codes on the globe’s surface. These codes are linked to audio or video files, which are played through the pen’s built-in speaker or headphone output when tapped on specific areas of the globe.
