Description
The Messier AR-102 optical tube is a top-tier achromat refractor designed for both visual observations and astrophotography. With its high-quality optics and impressive features, it delivers exceptional performance. The telescope features a bright and well-corrected achromatic lens with a diameter of 102mm and a focal length of 600mm. When used for observing planets and the Moon, it provides excellent clarity, revealing intricate details on the surfaces of celestial objects within our solar system. In addition, under dark skies, it allows for the observation of hundreds of nebulae from the Messier and NGC catalogs, making it a great choice for deep space exploration. The optical surfaces are coated with anti-reflective layers (MC) to minimize unwanted reflections and maximize light transmission.
One notable enhancement is the inclusion of a new 2.5" Hexfoc eyepiece holder. Its innovative hexagonal profile design ensures exceptional rigidity, surpassing other models in its price range. This allows for precise focusing and operation even when using heavier equipment and accessories, preventing deflection and maintaining axial alignment. Furthermore, the generous diameter of the eyepiece holder minimizes vignetting, ensuring a seamless viewing experience.
The optical tube can be easily mounted on various mounts, including those with a stiffness class of EQ-3-2/EXOS-1 or higher, thanks to the standard dovetail switch.
