The Orion Starblast 102 mm Travel AZ telescope is a lightweight and stable instrument designed specifically for beginners and intermediate users. Its refractor optical system features a 600 mm focal length and a 102 mm aperture, consisting of a doublet with lenses made of low dispersion crown glass and flint. To enhance the quality of the images produced, the optical system has been fully coated with multilayer anti-reflective coatings, resulting in clear and high-contrast visuals.
Included with the telescope are Plössl eyepieces that have a thread enabling the attachment of 1.25" filters. This feature allows users to improve the instrument's performance in areas with strong light pollution by installing filters that block specific spectral lines, such as those produced by sodium and mercury lamps.
