The optical system of this extraordinary astrograph features a Newtonian refractor with a 130mm aperture and a 364mm focal length. The main mirror, made from PZ33 glass, possesses a lower coefficient of thermal expansion akin to Pyrex glass. To further enhance its performance, the mirror is coated with a high-efficiency dielectric coating, reflecting up to 97 percent of incident light.
An integral component of the optics is the built-in field flatness corrector. This doublet, with an air gap, incorporates a lens made of low-dispersion (ED) glass.
