Advanced Optical System

This astrograph boasts a patented optical system incorporating a main mirror, a Schmidt corrector, and a sophisticated group of four lenses crafted with rare earth metal-infused glass. This design ensures flat, aberration-free images, eliminating common issues like coma, astigmatism, and chromatic aberrations. The system offers a wide field of view and exceptional light-gathering capabilities, capturing nearly 850 times more light than the human eye. The lenses are coated with Celestron's proprietary StarBright XLT™ coating to reduce light reflections and enhance image contrast, while the main mirror is treated with reflective aluminum.

Extended Spectral Range

Unlike many telescopes optimized only for the visible spectrum (400 - 700 nm), the Celestron RASA 8" extends its spectral range from 400 to 800 nm, making it versatile for various astrophotography applications.

Housed in a robust aluminum tube, this astrograph includes an active cooling system that significantly accelerates the telescope's temperature stabilization process, which can typically take hours.
