At the heart of this refractor lies an apochromatic triplet optical system with an air gap, featuring lenses crafted from FPL-53 glass elements. FPL-53, also known as synthetic fluorspar, is a remarkable material produced by the renowned Japanese company Ohara. One of its key attributes is an impressively high Abbe number of 94.49, which closely rivals that of the extremely challenging-to-process crystalline fluorspar.
