The Orion GiantView BT-100 is a remarkable set of binoculars designed for both professional astronomers and landscape enthusiasts who seek exceptional viewing experiences during the day. Equipped with a 100 mm lens diameter, this model boasts an impressive light-gathering capacity, surpassing that of its 80 mm counterparts by over 50 percent. The substantial amount of collected light ensures remarkably clear images of various astronomical objects, ranging from the Moon to vivid nebulae. Enhancing the contrast further, all lenses of the Orion GiantView BT-100 binoculars are coated with a full multilayer coating.
These binoculars are compatible with 1.25" frame diameter eyepieces, and the set includes two 18 mm glasses with an apparent field of view of 65°. These glasses enable the use of optional filters such as Orion SkyGlow or UltraBlock, which effectively block light pollution, making astronomical observations possible even in the vicinity of large cities. To enhance viewing comfort in both day and night conditions, the glasses are mounted at a 45° angle.
The binoculars are designed with a durable and water-resistant body, ensuring its protection against shocks and adverse weather conditions. By filling the optics with dry nitrogen, the risk of fogging due to sudden temperature changes has been effectively eliminated.
Please note that while the Orion GiantView BT-100 can be mounted on tripods with a 1/4"-20 connector, it is recommended to use tripods specifically designed to handle heavy loads due to the weight of this instrument.
